GiveBack Offering

This past weekend I talked about the GiveBack Offering that we will be receiving at our Believe Christmas Experiences. I think sometimes people are confused when it comes to the difference between the tithe and an offering. An offering is ABOVE and BEYOND our tithe. I took some time to explain the difference this past weekend and shared three reasons why my family will be giving to this offering. If you missed it, here is the message online.

The Apostle Paul had this to say about taking up an offering in 2 Corinthians 9:7:7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

As I have been saying about this offering all month long, give to it if God has stirred your heart to give. Give to it if you want to be invested in helping us reach 2,000 people in 2014. If you get upset when the church talks about expanding and reaching further through giving, then simply don’t give. Don’t feel under compulsion to give to this offering. You can still come to Believe Christmas and enjoy yourself!

If you want to know what this offering will be used for, watch Part 2 of the GiveBack Project Series here. It’s not an offering to help us meet our budget for the year. We are good there. God has blessed our church through the people that are faithful partners, and not only have we met our budget, but we’ve given over $105,000 away to our communities this year. Simply put, the GiveBack offering is designed to help us expand and reach more people with the Gospel. We hope to purchase some land for our Lancaster Campus, launch another campus in the near future and increase our impact in the community.

But as I shared this past weekend, my family WANTS to give. I see that the blessings in my life are not just for me, but intended to flow THROUGH me. I want to see God’s Kingdom expanded on this earth, and I believe the local church is how it will happen. I want to see our campuses continue to reach people and to grow. I want to know that I did everything I could to help people step into eternity and did not live my only life for me.

So this weekend, I will be giving my family’s GiveBack Offering as well as my tithe. If you are a faithful tither to our church, then you are welcome to bring your tithe this weekend as well. If you wish to give your tithe or to this GiveBack Offering online, you can do it here.

Thank you for investing in this local church. We will do everything we can to steward it wisely, as we continue to build God’s Church on this earth.
