If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,
Is this verse saying what I think it’s saying? Is there a point at which the cross doesn’t work? Seems heretical to say that, but perhaps there is.
More than anything, this verse is talking about grace abuse! So many people abuse God’s grace daily.
I know cheating on my spouse is wrong…but I must follow my heart.
I know that sleeping with my boyfriend is wrong…but I love him.
I know that changing the numbers is wrong…but I want the promotion.
Too many Christians live under this false notion that they can knowingly CONTINUE in sin, and it will be OK, because God will forgive them.
The problem is that the CROSS doesn’t cover that attitude!!! That doesn’t mean we won’t make mistakes or make the wrong decision at times, and that God won’t forgive us. This is talking about an attitude where someone CONTINUALLY lives in sin, even when they are confronted by God’s Spirit or the truth. In fact, this might be an indication that the Spirit of God is not living in you!! (1 John 3:9)
This is a dangerous road to walk. This is a road that is walking away from God.
If you are on this road, be warned…the cross is not at the end of it.
