As we started this year, I decided it was time for a change. I was heavier than I had ever been in my life. As we began 2021, I committed to changing my eating habits. I knew that I needed some more discipline in my life when it comes to what I eat.
I have always loved working out. I workout 4 days per week, and do 20 minutes of cardio every time. The issue wasn’t in the gym, it was in the kitchen. My wife told me that if I’m going to eat a specific way, I can cook the meals. So I have been. I cook nearly all of the dinners in our house now.
Within 4 months I have lost 30lbs and I feel lighter and healthier than ever. My goal is to keep it off by the end of this year. It’s one thing to shed the pounds, it’s another to keep them off.
If you want to change something in your life, it takes dedication and discipline. It takes saying “no” to what you want at the moment so you can say “yes” to what is more important. Being healthy and feeling good physically was more important to me than eating whatever I want. Of course, I discovered some great hacks for eating this way. I am still watching what I eat, but now allowing myself to enjoy some treats every so often.
Can you see the difference?
